Open Wound:
Written and to be directed by Vald Lazar, a fellow from the Sundance Lab Institute, is a humanitarian short film of unique scope. The film, which concerns itself with women raped in wartime and the psychological aftermath for them, has already received the support of the United Nations High Commission of Refugees and will be shot entirely on location in Beirut, Lebanon, this winter.

With Sussan Deyhim ("Kite Runner", "Last Temptation of Christ," "Unfaithful," "Any Given Sunday") composing the film's soundscape and award-winning Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass ("The Visitor", "Syrian Bride," "Munich") as its lead, it will undoubtedly offer a journey like no other to audiences on the festival circuit, as well as in humanitarian events and benefits. Supporters of the projects include directors Spike Jonze and Nicolai Fulgisg.

Sussan continues her ongoing collaboration with visionary activist, playwright Eve Ensler (The Vagina Monologues) on Eve's great upcoming project. Details to be announced in the very soon future.

Sussan is in production, composing a music and sound design installation in conjunction with an amazing installation by visual artist Lita Albuquerque.

Lita Albuquerque is the recipient of the esteemed National Science Foundation Artists and Writers Program Grant, alongside famed film director Werner Herzog with his project "Encounters at the End of the World." With an international team of five she installed "Stellar Axis: Antarctica," the first and largest environmental artwork created on the continent, consisting of 99 ultramarine blue spheres aligned to the stars above. The blue against the white snow revealed a reverse sky on the ice. Documentation of the extraordinary experience will be transformed into the experience of being there through a multimedia installation of sight and sound.

Forbidden Echoes, Sussan Deyhim's first audio visual installation is in development. Sussan Hopes to present the project in the 2009 season. (More details soon)

Sussan collaborated with composer Tyler Bates (Halloween, 300, Californication) on his score for The Rise of the Argonauts.
