“La Belle et La Bête” is Sussan Deyhim’s latest recording project, blending a rich compilation of vintage international romantic tunes with original compositions. Deeply influenced by jazz, the album features collaborations with world-class musicians including Mitch Forman (Piano), John Leftwich (Bass), Steve Haas (Drums), and special guest Hamid Saeedi (Santour). The album also includes unique interpretations of timeless songs like Bob Dylan’s “All I Really Want to Do” and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” alongside international standards such as “Estate” and the Iranian classic “Marabeboos.”
Deyhim describes the project as “an homage to my love affair with the American jazz tradition and a celebration of timeless international tunes.” With contributions from renowned artists including Lili Haydn, Satnam Ramgotra, Greg Ellis, Mehdi Bagheri, and more, the album delivers a multicultural and soulful musical journey.
